About the Production

Since April 2021, I have been creating sports content on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. At the time, I decided that I wanted to provide my own opinion on different sports topics, as well as my reactions to different sports news. This has been the same reasoning for the last four years, and has allowed for me to accumulate over 2 million combined views on all my platforms.

In my sports content, I cover a variety of sports and anything that I believe is interesting to share or discuss. In particular, my major sport of choice is NFL but I usually cover sports that are currently in action. On top of discussions and sharing my opinions, I also provide live reactions to games I am watching, giving viewers input and my opinions on what I am currently watching on screen. I cover all roles when making my content, from research, recording, editing, and posting, giving me my own personal brand to grow.

Creative Problem and Solution

The main creative reason I decided to create sports content was because I wanted to share my opinions and reactions with others. When watching sports content on social media, I only get to watch what the creator puts out. Furthermore, all creators have their own implicit bias towards or against certain teams, players, or coaches which affect their approach to the topic, and the amount of coverage.

Because of these issues, I decided to create my own content instead and address my own needs. Additionally, many other fans of similar teams or topics might feel heard with my content, seeing their opinions be addressed by a content creator.

Process and Development

Making social media content does not require too many things. When making a video, I find an idea I want to cover, find photos and videos to discuss, record, edit, and post the final videos. All in all, the entire development process takes close to an hour, with a majority of time involving editing the video.

When posting on social media, I have to be aware of how to make my video appealing, interesting, and viable for the algorithm to promote my video to others. Covering specific topics and not others may impact viewership and engagement which is very crucial. Altogether, these aspects are important when developing a video.

Results

After posting videos on social media, the reactions and opinions on my videos vary. I tend to get positive comments agreeing with my opinion as well as negative comments strongly disagreeing with my point. For my small content creator brand, any engagement is good engagement and every person has the right to provide their opinion on my video.

Throughout my time as a creator on social media, I have amassed over 2 million views and over 1,200 total followers which is a great accomplishment when starting from nothing. I have also improved my editing and video making skills which can help me make better and more engaging content in the future.

Since these videos are from my personal channel, there are no other credits to provide. I hope to collaborate with other content creators in the future to make exciting content.
